I don’t know about you but I am over the TV or the news reporting how we are living in uncertain times. To pivot our business. Telling us, this is the new normal.
No, it’s not. Normal has a new definition. Yes, times are tough that doesn’t mean it has to stay this way. No one said to give up, stay home, and watch Netflix all day. Yes, people are out of work, and money is tight now more than ever. But…
- What if this is your season of growth?
- The time for you to create that new product?
- Your chance to write that book you have dictated to yourself over the years?
No one has told us to stop dreaming, to push our goals to the side and wait. No one.
How do you move forward in these “times” when life seems unfair?
Resilience.
A person with resilience withstands and recovers from difficult times. This looks different for each of us, and it probably looks different now as opposed to eight weeks ago.
In the beginning, we talked about how to pivot your businesses to keep moving forward. You’ve done an amazing job of finding new ways to sell your products and services all while social distancing. For those who feel they are still struggling to pivot, we are in week nine now, and now is the time to withstand and recover.
As some states begin to reopen, it is time to stand back up. Pick up those things you put aside in the beginning and start again. Find a way to make it happen. Write down those goals you had for the year and do a litmus test. Figure out which parts are viable and which are not. Then stand up and try again. Set daily goals. Make a to-do list and then do it. Now is also the time to change out of your day time pajamas, put on some real clothes, and get to work. If you have gone dark during this time or sat back in a pity party in hopes your customers will remember you…STOP.
Hopefully, you have been working even harder on your business. I get it, not all businesses are the same and not all customers are going to need your products or services right now. That time is going to end. They are going to need your products and services. Life will resume. Even if it’s never like it was four months ago. So get dressed and get to work.
A little something for you
