5 Easy Ways to Improve Your Social Media Impact During Covid-19

Conquer Uncertainty in a Changing World
May 24, 2020 by NDG-Katana in Business

I don’t know about you but I am over the TV or the news reporting how we are living in uncertain times. To pivot our business. Telling us, this is the new normal.

No, it’s not.  Normal has a new definition. Yes, times are tough that doesn’t mean it has to stay this way. No one said to give up, stay home, and watch Netflix all day. Yes, people are out of work, and money is tight now more than ever. But…

  • What if this is your season of growth?
  • The time for you to create that new product?
  • Your chance to write that book you have dictated to yourself over the years?

No one has told us to stop dreaming, to push our goals to the side and wait. No one.

How do you move forward in these “times” when life seems unfair?

Resilience.

A person with resilience withstands and recovers from difficult times. This looks different for each of us, and it probably looks different now as opposed to eight weeks ago.

In the beginning, we talked about how to pivot your businesses to keep moving forward. You’ve done an amazing job of finding new ways to sell your products and services all while social distancing. For those who feel they are still struggling to pivot, we are in week nine now, and now is the time to withstand and recover.

As some states begin to reopen, it is time to stand back up. Pick up those things you put aside in the beginning and start again. Find a way to make it happen. Write down those goals you had for the year and do a litmus test. Figure out which parts are viable and which are not. Then stand up and try again. Set daily goals. Make a to-do list and then do it. Now is also the time to change out of your day time pajamas, put on some real clothes, and get to work. If you have gone dark during this time or sat back in a pity party in hopes your customers will remember you…STOP.

Hopefully, you have been working even harder on your business. I get it, not all businesses are the same and not all customers are going to need your products or services right now. That time is going to end. They are going to need your products and services. Life will resume. Even if it’s never like it was four months ago. So get dressed and get to work.

A little something for you

Do you follow our blogs? If so, thank you! However if not, then those who do can tell you we like to give you free content to help your business move forward.

Well, this week I want to give you something a bit more personal. A “Today I Will” sheet to help you move forward in your day. I spent the last few weeks figuring out the best use of it; not only to help myself but for anyone using it.

Download instructions here, and try it yourself by downloading Today I Will PDF here.

I pray you all are staying safe and healthy in this new season of growth.
Stay resilient and most of all, stay amazing!

Till next time,

Cyndi

How many people do you know prefer Starbucks coffe How many people do you know prefer Starbucks coffee over anything else?

Coffee is subject to personal preference. Some people prefer Keurig, some Denny's at 3am, others a $5 Starbucks Frappe.

Ask why someone prefers one over the other and usually you'll hear "it's a feeling when I go there", or "I love how friendly they are."

This ties into a brand's values. Starbucks values a sense of community, comfortable surrounds and a familiar coffee aroma.

For some of us it's our children, maybe a text from a friend, or pet doing things they shouldn't. Could be as simple as your morning cup of coffee.

When your day feels long and draining, remember the little things. May you find a pocket of brightness in all your dreary days.

Different platforms serve different purposes. Be where your audience is by talking to them on the channels they use most often.

More than likely, you’ll check your Instagram notifications on your phone, not your desktop. Keep your content accessible by ensuring you design with mobile-first in mind.

Burnt out trying to manage your social media marke Burnt out trying to manage your social media marketing? Information overload is an unfortunate side-effect when delving into social media (whether your browsing or crafting content). There are enough new tweets created in a single day to fill a 10-million page book.

So, how does your business create content that is relevant to your audience?

First, know your audience. Talk to them on the platforms they prefer.

Second, create new content. What information can you share that your audience wants to know?

Third, curate content. When sharing relevant content, offer a meaningful insight with your own summary.

Lastly, focus on quality content. Use your allotted time for marketing to create the best content you can. More isn’t better.
